Hirakata Hachiman Shrine
Founded in 1597, the shrine is given the honorary name "Hachiman-sama," as the shrine of Hirakata, and has long played a role in the live of the people of Hirakata through events such as the port festival.
From a height of 50 meters above sea level, the temple offers a panoramic view of Hirakata Port, making it a must-visit spot when taking a stroll in the area. On the grounds of the temple is a monument to Matsuo Basho, Japan's most famous haiku poet, who wrote the haiku, "All things visible around here have a crisp and cool sensation".
