The KitaIbaraki Museum of History and Folklore (The Museum of Ujo Noguchi) was opened to honor and pass on to future generations the great works of Ujo Noguchi, who was born in KitaIbaraki and is considered one of the three greatest children's song writers in Japan. The children's songs written by Ujo Noguchi, such as Nanatsu no Ko and Shabondama, are still sung throughout Japan today.
The Museum of Ujo Noguchi and Ujo's Birthplace feature many historical relics related to Ujo. Ujo's birthplace, which overlooks the sea in Isohara, is called Kankaitei (House overlooking the sea), and is still visited by many people.
